City of Chicago Building Permits
The current Chicago snapshot comes from the City of Chicago Building Permits open-data dataset. Use is governed by the City's Data Terms of Use. The City requires any derivative application to include the following disclaimer. It also appears in the footer on every page.
This site provides applications using data that has been modified for use from its original source, www.cityofchicago.org, the official website of the City of Chicago. The City of Chicago makes no claims as to the content, accuracy, timeliness, or completeness of any of the data provided at this site. The data provided at this site is subject to change at any time. It is understood that the data provided at this site is being used at one’s own risk.
Cook County Assessor
When a Chicago permit includes a PIN, we look up building size, year built, and property class on the Cook County Open Data portal. Those fields are public parcel attributes. We do not copy owner names, mailing addresses, or contact phones from assessor records.
What we do not publish
- No owner, developer, or contractor contacts, even when the source dataset lists them.
- No exclusive-lead framing. These are attributed public records, not FieldFlowHub inventory.
- No stage or score reasoning the source data cannot support. Missing fields are omitted.
